Billy Fox Foundation

Billy’s story began September 18, 1988. Billy was very active at a young age who started playing multiple sports at the early age of three, going on four. Playing flag football for the Wallingford Huskies, T-ball for Leedom Little League, basketball for Ridley ABA and if all that was not enough, Billy’s true love, "HOCKEY" began. Billy started out for (2) seasons with the Pennsauken Thunderbirds. Billy went on find his love of Ridley sports as he started to skate for the Ridley Development team coached by Tom Horne. He continued playing for Ridley, winning the Elementary League championship in the ‘97/98 season. Billy continued playing multiple sports and teams, adding Ridley LAX and travel hockey for the Delco Phantoms. Billy was a three-sport varsity athlete playing football, hockey and baseball for the Green Raiders. As a freshman Billy played varsity hockey and was named Rookie of Year. His travel hockey continued as well with the Medford Jaguars. Billy graduated Ridley in 2007 after many successful playoff runs in football, hockey and baseball. He began college in Fort Myers at Florida Gulf Coast University, playing hockey where he was an Assistant Captain leading the team in goals (19) and points (33). He transferred to Penn State University and continued his hockey career graduating in May of 2013 with a degree in Business. While at Penn State Billy earned his USA Hockey Referee certification. Billy would referee the Ridley vs Flyers Alumni game. He also started to help coach the Ridley Varsity Hockey team. Billy was just starting out in life and was giving back to the game that was so good to him. It was because of this and his love for the game that we established the Billy Fox Foundation. The Ridley Hockey Alumni honors Billy as well giving out the Annual Billy Fox Award to a senior hockey play at Ridley.
